The Portuguese Association of Maui is accepting applications for college-level scholarships.

Five grants totaling $7,500 are available for 2026. The first-place grant is $2,500. Second place is $2,000 and three grants of $1,000 each are available.

Residents of Maui County including Molokai and Lanai who are of Portuguese or part-Portuguese ancestry and pursuing academic or vocational degrees in accredited institutions are invited to apply.

Applications are available from all high school counselors in Maui County, from the Financial Aid office at UH-Maui College or by emailing the Portuguese Association’s Scholarship Chair audrey@mauigateway.com. The deadline to apply is Feb. 28.

The Portuguese Association of Maui began awarding scholarships in 2003. With this year’s awards, the 37-member association will have given $87,500 to 78 Maui scholars.
