Five nominees named for Maui court vacancy
The state Judicial Selection Commission has released a list of five nominees to fill a vacancy on the 2nd Circuit Court on Maui.
The vacancy was created by the retirement of Circuit Judge Kelsey T. Kawano in December, according to a commission news release.
The nominees are Ryan M. K. Anderson-Teshima, Annalisa M. Bernard Lee, Lance D. Collins, Thomas W. Kolbe and Zachary P. Raidmae.
Under the state Constitution, the governor must appoint a judge from the commission’s list, subject to Senate confirmation. The governor has 30 days from receipt of the list to make the appointment.
