Maui Food Bank CEO to step down in April
Lisa Paulson
Maui Food Bank has announced the departure of CEO Lisa Paulson, who will leave her post effective April 15 to relocate to the Washington, D.C., area and pursue national advocacy opportunities.
“Lisa has provided thoughtful and dedicated leadership during an important time for our community,” Maui Food Bank Board Chair Marsha Sharpe said in a Tuesday news release. “Her commitment to ensuring Maui families have access to food and essential support has strengthened our organization and positioned us well for the future. We are deeply grateful for her service.”
Paulson became CEO on Aug. 19, 2024, as the organization was reporting a 65% surge in food insecurity. Prior to working for Maui Food Bank, Paulson held the position of executive director of Maui’s Hotel and Lodging Association.
According to Maui Food Bank, Paulson helped guide the organization’s efforts to expand food access, strengthen partnerships and respond to the evolving needs of the community, and her leadership has been credited for contributing to Maui Food Bank’s continued role as a vital resource across the county.
“Serving Maui Food Bank and this community has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my career,” said Paulson. “I am incredibly proud of the work we have done together and the impact we have made for our neighbors. As I look ahead to expanding my work in advocacy at the national level, I carry with me the lessons and inspiration from this community.”
The board will initiate a search for the organization’s next CEO. In the interim, the organization’s current leadership team will step in to support day-to-day operations and ensure continuity of services across Maui County.
