Court orders Maui Planning Commission to revisit Honua‘ula project
The Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals ruled Thursday that the Maui Planning Commission must reconsider whether major changes to the Honua‘ula development formerly known as Wailea 670 require a supplemental environmental impact statement. Per its ruling, the court found the planning commission failed to properly consider whether the project had changed substantially in size, scope, intensity, use, location or timing since the 2012 final environmental impact statement was approved. Akakū Maui Community Media will broadcast live coverage of Hawaii’s 2026 primary election from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday. Maui to remember third anniversary of deadly wildfires Saturday
The annual Kuhinia Maui gathering will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday to mark the third anniversary of the 2023 Maui wildfires that killed at least 102 people and burned much of Lahaina.
