Maui to remember third anniversary of deadly wildfires Saturday

The annual Kuhinia Maui gathering will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday to mark the third anniversary of the 2023 Maui wildfires that killed at least 102 people and burned much of Lahaina. The daylong gathering is intended to give residents an opportunity to be with family, friends and other community members as they support and care for one another on the third anniversary of the disaster. Court orders Maui Planning Commission to revisit Honua‘ula project

The Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals ruled Thursday that the Maui Planning Commission must reconsider whether major changes to the Honua‘ula development formerly known as Wailea 670 require a supplemental environmental impact statement.
