People across the state have received messages claiming to be from the Hawaii District Court or the Department of Motor Vehicles, threatening them with the suspension of their driving privileges and vehicle registration, vehicle impoundment, wage garnishment and other consequences. Kahului man arrested in connection with Hoʻokipa-area robbery

A 34-year-old Kahului man was arrested Friday in connection with an armed robbery reported earlier this week near Hoʻokipa Beach Park, according to Maui police. Police said the man was arrested at about 2:20 p.m. on a $100,000 warrant related to the June 10 robbery. He also had additional warrants totaling $320,000 and remained in police custody Friday. Emalia’s Table online auction underway to support grieving children

Nā Keiki O Emalia’s annual Emalia’s Table fundraiser is underway, with an online auction open through June 19 to support grief services for Maui children and teens who have lost a loved one. The auction features more than 50 items, including dining experiences, adventures, gifts and vacation getaways.
