Primary voting by mail starts today

Ballots were mailed to Maui County registered voters Thursday, the Maui County Office of the County Clerk announced. The County Clerk’s office said once mail-in voters make their selection, they should be sure to insert their ballot into the yellow secrecy sleeve and into the postage-paid return envelope. Be sure to sign the outside of your ballot envelope. Voters should mail their ballots with enough time for them to be received no later than 7 p.m. on Aug. 8, 2026. Lettuce at Taco Bell in 5 states confirmed as a source of diarrhea-causing parasite

ATLANTA — Federal health officials have identified lettuce from Mexico served at Taco Bell locations across five U.S. states as a source of a widespread outbreak of diarrhea-causing parasite cyclospora. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention late Thursday warned consumers not to eat shredded iceberg lettuce from Taco Bell restaurants in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia.
