The Maui County Department of Parks and Recreation and One Love Skate will host a free Skate Jam from 3-6 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Upcountry Skate Park in Pukalani. Skaters of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Registration begins at 2:45 p.m., followed by skate lessons from 3-3:30 p.m., and a variety of skill-level contests throughout the afternoon, including timed runs, best trick and more. Hawaiian Electric contractors will perform maintenance on a steel utility pole at Dairy Road and Alamaha Street from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 29–30 and Oct. 5–9. The work will close the right-turn lane from Alamaha Street onto southbound Dairy Road, along with the bike lane, shoulder and sidewalk in the area. No electrical service interruption is expected. Flaggers will direct traffic through the area. Motorists should expect delays and use caution near the work zone.
