Man running for US House arrested following disturbance at public building
On Friday, Maui police arrested Kirill Basin, who recently announced he is running for Hawaii's 2nd Congressional District seat in the U.S. House. According to police, dispatch received a report that at approximately 9:30 a.m., Basin entered a county building off Main Street in Wailuku while brandishing a firearm and engaged in a verbal altercation with county employees.
