Closure revised for section of South Kihei Road
Both lanes of South Kihei Road will reopen during nonworking hours following significant progress in repair work. South Kihei Road has been closed from Ohukai Road to Kulanihakoi Street since last week. With the road reopening during nonworking hours, it will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and Saturday. Piilani Highway in Kaupo to close nightly May 4-8
A section of the Piilani Highway in Kaupo will be closed to all traffic except for emergency vehicles from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. May 4-8 for repairs project roadwork. The East Maui closure is just past Mile Marker 28 on the Piilani Highway. Drivers are asked to avoid the area during nighttime work hours. The road will be closed due to geotechnical work for Maui County’s Waiopai Embankment Repairs project.

The Lahaina Community Land Trust has launched a homebuyer portal aimed at helping Lahaina-rooted residents begin the process toward permanently affordable homeownership. The portal, available at lahainacommunitylandtrust.org/comehome, allows residents to submit an intake form that places them in the pipeline to potentially purchase a future LCLT home.
