Cecilia Puaala Bustamente Eala
Cecilia Puaala Bustamente Eala passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024. She was born to Elizabeth “Lizzie” Hoopai and Demetrio “Blue” Bustamente Sr. on December 10, 1939 in Keanae, Maui then later moved to Molokai with her family. She married the love of her life, Paulino Eala Sr. (predeceased) and together they raised their family in Kualapuu, Molokai. Cecilia worked and retired as a Park Caretaker for the Maui County Parks and Recreation Department and loved working in her garden. Besides growing beautiful flowers, she was also known for her delicious and yummy energy bars.
Cecilia is survived by her children, Paulina (Steve Helfrich) Eala, Paulino (Michelle) Glassen-Eala, Michael Eala, Michelle (Rodney) Kalanikau, her hanai-children Francisco Fontanilla, Willette Jumawan, her sisters Anita Visoria, Rachel Kaholokula, her hanai sister Flora Jumawan, her sisters-in-law Susan Bustamente, Cheryl Bustamente, her brother-in-law Henry Kaholokula, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
