Artemio Morales

Artemio “Sabas” Simon Morales, 88, of Wailuku, Hawai’i, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on June 23, 2025.

Born on February 1 1937, in Philippines, Sabas was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He moved to Maui in November 1992 to be with his growing family. He worked at the Westin Maui in Kaanapali, Lahaina for about 12 years as a dishwasher before retiring in 2004.

Sabas loved being around family, enjoyed driving his white 1999 Toyota Corolla, and attending fun senior events with his wife, Pacing.

During retirement, he would be watching the Price is Right, the Wheel of Fortune promptly at 7pm every night and doing word searches with his trusty ruler ensuring the lines were straight or making delicious family recipe foods that will forever be enjoyed by generations. He will be remembered for his kindness, amazing cooking, sense of humor, and his warm smile.

Sabas is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Pacifica, daugther, Susan (Conrad), two granddaughters Ashley (Kristofer) and Rachel (Cody) and three great-grandchildren, Kayden, Miya and Kaia.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Nakamura Mortuary. The service will begin at 10am. The burial will follow at 12:30pm at the Garden of Mediation at the Maui Memorial Park in Wailuku.

Light refreshments will be served at a reception following the service, and we encourage guests to wear aloha attire, as we gather to honor Sabas’s life.

For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed. A link will be sent at a later date.
