Debbie Kahoohanohano

Debbie Rae (Harris) Kahoohanohano, age 70, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, in Wailuku under Hospice Care. Born on July 3, 1955 in Mesa, Arizona, Debbie moved to Maui when she was just six years old. Debbie lived a life marked by devotion to her family, dedication to her work, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew her.

Debbie spent many years working as a Pharmacy Technician, at both Kihei Professional Pharmacy and then Wailea Pharmacy, where her attention to detail and care for others made a lasting impact. Later, she took over her father’s business and became the proud owner of Gene Harris Income Tax. For over two decades, she served her community with integrity and professionalism, continuing the legacy of her father while building one of her own. Debbie enjoyed working with her tax clients and building relationships with them. Her tax clients were the best part of her business and many have become lifelong friends.

Family was at the heart of everything Debbie did. On May 17, 1975, Debbie married her true love, Michael Kahoohanohano. They recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Together they had 4 children – Michelle Kehaulani (David), Patrick Aliinoa, Raenelle Hoonani (Lorenzo), and Joseph Ikaika (Victoria). Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to Trevor, Jayshaun, Blaine, Javari, Javonte, and Aniya. Debbie cherished every moment spent with them and embraced her role as “Grandma” with warmth and pride.

Debbie is also survived by her brother Jerry (Pat), and sisters Ginger (Dean), Judy, and Peggy Jean (Irving).

Debbie will be remembered for her loving nature, generous heart, and unwavering commitment to those she held dear. She found deep fulfillment in nurturing her family and offering support whenever it was needed. Her legacy lives on through the lives she shaped with kindness and care. May Debbie’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Eddie Tam Community Center – 931 Makawao Ave, Makawao. Luncheon to follow directly after services conclude.
