Roy Tadashi Okamoto, died of a heart condition, on Feb 24, 2021, at his home in Springfield, Virginia. Graveside service will begin with a Military Honor Guard on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Maui Memorial Park, with burial following. Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with the arrangements. Roy was born on July 26, 1943, in Wailuku. He was the son of Joseph and Florence (Anbe) Okamoto. Roy earned an Electrical Engineering degree at Purdue University and was in the ROTC. Nancy Oshiro, 91 of Kahului, Maui passed away on May 9, 2022 under the care of Hale Makua Wailuku and Hospice. She was born to Kama and Kama (Nohara) Takayesu. She retired from Maui High School as a Custodian. Private services were held. Nancy is predeceased by her husband, Seiji “Manok” Oshiro and daughter, Karen (Oshiro) Goo. She is survived by her sons; Gary (Naomi) of Maui, Larry (Sumi) of Huntington Beach, California and Scot (Iris) of Kona, Hawaii; with 5 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A native son of Maui, he grew up among the cane fields of Paia, attending Paia Elementary, Maui High School and the University of Hawai‘i.
