Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Ballard Family Mortuary; service begins at 11:00 a.m.; burial will follow, 12:30 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park Cemetery in Wailuku. Thomas M. "Galanto" Nakagawa, 78, of Wailuku passed away peacefully on September 22, 2021. His and Alice ashes will be scattered over the ocean off Maui. Tom served proudly in the US Navy. He worked at Garrett Ai Research (Los Angeles, CA) and Boeing (Haleakala). Returning to Maui, he supported the Pacific Whale Foundation; flew glider airplanes & carved unique walking canes and crosses. Harriet Miyoko Yoshino, 85 of Aiea, passed away on October 24, 2021. Born in Puunene, Maui, she retired as a data processor for Hawaiian Life Insurance Company. She is survived by her son Rocky; daughters Kathy (Glenn) Nakao and Sharon Rowe; daughters-in-law Tuk Hui Shito and Diane Shito; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grand children.
