Barbara Leiko Higuchi died on her 70th birthday on April 20, 2021 at the hospital. Survived by her granddaughter, Janeen Higuchi and her two sisters, Pauline (Wilfred) Kitada and Lynette Ruppert. Also, her nephew Vance (Lindsay) Ruppert and their three children. Predeceased by her daughter Leinette Higuchi and parents, James and Futaba Higuchi. Viewing service will be held for family only. Our loving father, grandpa, brother and friend, had peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 29th, 2021. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 12th, 1951. Kikue “Kay” Takaki, 96

Kikue “Kay” Takaki of Kahului, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2021, at Hale Makua Kahului. She was born on September 27, 1924, to Kichizo & Yuki (Uchida) Nagato. Kikue was a talented seamstress and worked for many years at Ted’s Men’s Wear in Wailuku. She was also a longtime salesclerk at Robins at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Shopping Center. She and her husband Minoru traveled extensively throughout the U.S. mainland and Japan with their friends, and especially enjoyed playing the slots in Las Ve-gas several times a year. Iris Ginoza of Kihei passed into Our Heavenly Father’s embrace on 04-18-2021 at Maui Memorial Hospital. She was born on 09-30-1952 at 11:46pm in Wailuku to Katsunori and Rose Nishida. Beverly H. Kaya, 88, of Kahului, passed away on March 19, 2021. She was born in Wailuku, Maui to Hachiro and Satomi Takayama. Beverly attended St. Anthony School, later transferring to Baldwin High School, where she graduated. She worked as a secretary at the State of Hawaii Department of Rehabilitation until her retirement.
