Masayoshi "Michael" Nakatani, 93, of Kahului Maui passed away in the comfort of his home on February 13, 2020, with loving family by his side. Services honoring Mr. Nakatani will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Nakamura Mortuary. Public visitation will begin at 9:00am and service at 10:00am. Mr. Nakatani will be laid to eternal rest at Maui Memorial Park at 12:30pm. Michael Suda, 89 of Haiku, Maui passed on February 20, 2020 under the care of Hospice Maui. He was delivered by midwife to Shinnosuke and Tsui Suda on May 30, 1930 in Huelo, Maui. A retired teacher with 33 years of service at Haiku and Makawao Elementary schools, Mike devoted much of his retirement to community projects deserving of recognition. He was presented the Tony Tomoso Award (Outstanding Senior Volunteer) in 2004 to recognize his commitment to the students of his alma mater, Haiku Elementary, where he also helped organize its 100th Anniversary Ho’olaule’a.
