Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at St. Joseph Church in Makawao; Eulogy starts at 10:30 a.m.; Mass will begin at 11 a.m. and burial will follow at St. Joseph Church Cemetery. Mildred S Kawaguchi, 91, of Kahului, Maui, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2019 at her residence. Services honoring Mildred, were held privately by family. Mildred was born on June 26, 1928 to Harry and Ruth Yamada in Lahaina, Hawaii and later relocated to Oahu and graduated from McKinley High School. She was a retired supervisor for housekeeping at Springfield Hospital in Springfield, MA. Longtime Wailuku businessman and community leader, S. Stanley Okamoto, 93, passed away on January 31, 2020. Stanley was born in Wailuku to Shigemi and Shizuko Okamoto.  He attended Baldwin High School and the University of Hawaii. Stanley and his family have long supported the Honpa Hongwanji Kyodan and the Japanese American community both here and on the Mainland. Stanley’s Buddhist beliefs were the source of his devotion to others and his community.
