Fumiko Uyehara, 89, died February 15, 2019 peacefully at her home in Pukalani. Fumiko was born on June 11, 1929 in Waikapu. She enjoyed gardening and sewing and shared her many quilts with people she knew and loved. Lillian “Gloria” Yamaguchi, 81, of Wailuku, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2019 at Maui Memorial Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Gloria was born on January 15, 1938 to Rosario and Marcelino Purugganan in Wailuku, Maui; she was raised in Waikapu and graduated from Baldwin High School, Class of 1957. Kazumi Kawakami, 87, of Wailuku passed away peacefully at Hale Makua Kahului under the care of Hale Makua North, Hospice Maui and surrounded by his loving family on February 10, 2019. Services honoring Mr. Kawakami will be held at St. Anthony Church on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Visitation will begin at 9:00am with the eulogy at 10:15am. Mass will begin at 11:00am. Magdalena “Madge” Peterson, 96, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2019 at Hale Makua, Wailuku. She was born on July 9, 1922 in Pennsylvania. She retired as a waitress from the Sheraton Maui Hotel. Madge is survived by her son, Kenneth “Pete” A. Peterson and his family.
