Shigenobu Shibano, 93, of Kahului, passed away on March 28, 2017 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on November 24, 1923 in Wailuku. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Wailuku Hongwanji Mission. Shigenobu was a retired manager from the Maui Bowling Center in Wailuku. He is survived by his son, Clifford Shibano; daughters, Cheryl (Griffith) Yamaguchi, and Dawn Shibano; and 2 grandchildren, Jessica and Joshua Yamaguchi. Kiyoko Tomita, 95

Kiyoko Tomita, 95, passed away on March 26, 2017 in Sunnyvale, CA. Private family services were held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Nakamura Mortuary. Kiyoko was born on November 11, 1921 in Kaupakalua to Toyono and Nisaku (Arine) Sone. She was predeceased by husband, Torao Tomita. Together they had three children, Lousie (Wayne) Kuramoto, Leonard (Pat) Tomita and Daniel (Karen) Tomita, also eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Earl Whiteley, 88

Earl Whiteley, Jr. 88, of Lahaina, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. He was born in Berkeley, California. Survived by sister, Kathryn Beach; daughters, Linda (Gary) Katz and Nancy (Dan) Keys; sons Rick Whiteley (Lisa Felice) and Joseph (Rachelle) Whiteley; 13 grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. John Anthony Capone, 74

John Anthony Capone, talented artist passed away at home on March 18, 2017. He was a lifetime member of the Lahaina Arts Society and was the past treasurer. Before moving to Maui he managed hotels in Florida and the 1717 Alawai Complex in Honolulu. He completed High School in Bangor, Pennsylvania; he proudly served in the US Navy for three years, and later took many hospitality industry courses. Baseball was one of his passions.
