Jean Stapleton Coleman, 91, of Makawao, formerly of Honolulu, died Dec. 22, in Kahului. Jean was born Feb. 16, 1925, in Detroit, to Charles and Roselind Stapleton. She lived mostly in Hawaii, but loved to travel, including spending eight years in Japan, where she married and had three of her four children; three years, starting in 1978, circling the globe teaching English and doing astrology charts; and five years while in her 60s in Holland and Tunisia with the U.S. Foreign Service.
