Marvin En Pin Shim, 71, of Kula, Maui, passed away on December 13, 2016, at Maui Memorial Medical Center.  He was born on May 13, 1945, in Kula. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016, at Ballard Family Mortuary; service will begin at 7:30 p.m.  Visitation will also be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2016, at St. John’s Episcopal Church; service will begin at 10:00 a.m.; burial will follow at the church cemetery. Ruby H. Yoshisato, 85 of Wailuku passed away on December 12, 2016, with her family by her side and under the care of Island Hospice.  Ruby was born on April 24, 1931 in Pu’unene, Maui. Ruby worked for Maui Pineapple Cannery for over 50 years.  After retiring she enjoyed going to Las Vegas and spending time with her family and friends.  She was very active in the ILWU and the Democratic Party helping all the candidates. Harriet Amaral, 89 of Wailuku passed away peacefully November 24, 2016 at Hale Makua Kahului surrounded by her loved ones.  She was born in Wailuku on June 12, 1927.
