Reduce, reuse, recycle theme for virtual meeting

Kihei Community Association has set a virtual general membership meeting for 6:30 p.m. today at https://facebook.com/kihe.community.association/live.

We all know the best action is reducing forever material like plastics. But sometimes you have no choice once you already have it. So, you try to reuse it as often as possible before sending it to the landfill. And some items may be recycled.

On Maui, most recycling means shipping to some other place to be used to make something instead of using raw materials. But here we have some local businesses who actually are recycling right here. In addition, we have county officials to explain how they work to prevent items from going to the landfill as well.

So, if you believe in reduce, reuse and recycle, and want to learn more about how to participate with both private and government entities, be ready to go online next Tuesday evening and hear from guys who are doing it. You will be able to submit questions as well.

KCA is an all-volunteer, unfunded, nonprofit community organization. Membership is not required to participate online either, but encouraged, with a 40 percent discount offer in effect.
