Letter: Helping someone disabled can really benefit their life

Five minutes of your time helping someone who is disabled can really benefit their life. Simple things that we take for granted are a challenge for people who are disabled. There are people who are trying to live a life of independence who are disabled and need help. These people try their best to be independent, but many of them are limited. If you know someone with a disabled, if you have the chance, it would really be appreciated by them to take time out, and offer them assistance. As world leaders gather for climate talks, one major contributor to climate change continues to be sidelined: industrial animal agriculture. While energy and transportation dominate the conversation, factory farming remains a leading source of greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, water pollution, and biodiversity loss. Letter: Bikes are stolen. Return them now.

Our Sur-Ron dirt bikes were stolen Saturday or Sunday between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. from a locked shed at our burn lot in Lahaina while we were sleeping right there in the trailer. I told 12 people to come by today to view them. If you have any information, please let me know at (808) 870-2687. There are street cameras, but I don’t know how to access footage. Police? County? Letter: ‘Subtle energies’ behind health emergency today?

In December 1994, I came across an interesting book in an old, dusty, secondhand bookstore. It looked unusual, felt unusual, and the writing was obviously from a very high consciousness. The author was either Chinese or Tibetan. Reading it, one realized that the author was able to capture one’s breath and make one feel as if he were reading not only between the lines, but directly within the consciousness of the author. As recently reported in the New York Times, problems with a 25-year-old landmark paper on the safety of Roundup’s active ingredient, glyphosate, have led to calls for the Environmental Protection Agency to reassess the widely used chemical. Bayer, which purchased Monsanto, the company that manufactures Roundup and had been active on Maui for years, has already settled $10 billion worth of settlements after it lost a case in court by a groundskeeper of a school who claimed his cancer was caused by Roundup, and was awarded $285 million. President Donald Trump’s illegal acts of war against Venezuela are a clear violation of U.S. military, and international law. Every drone bombing of unknown boats, murders of unknown people on those boats, seizure of oil tankers, and now bombing of Caracas and kidnapping of a sovereign nation’s president and first lady have been equally illegal, not to mention outrageously immoral.
