The Lanai High School softball team completed a comeback from an 0-2 start to claim its second straight league championship Friday by beating Hana 13-3 in six innings in the Maui Interscholastic League Division II tournament final in Hana.

The Pine Lasses (7-2) won their seventh straight game to earn a trip back to the Datahouse/HHSAA D-II state championship, May 2-5 on Oahu.

Statistics from the title game were not reported by The Maui News’ deadline.

With Friday’s loss the Dragons (2-7) now must play Molokai (5-4) in a second-place playoff today in Hana. The winner then must travel to take on the Kauai Interscholastic Federation runner-up in a game Wednesday that will determine a state tournament berth.

In their semifinal Thursday, Hana upset the Farmers 20-17 in eight innings.
