Makawao golfer hits hole-in-one

Makawao resident Tim Murren shot a hole-in-one on Sept. 15 at the Pukalani Golf Course. Using a six iron, Murren, 65, aced the eighth hole from 148 yards. The hole-in-one was witnessed by Jerry Masaki, Jim Niemeyer and Warren Higa.

Seabury seniors continue to turn in MIL’s top cross country times

Seabury Hall seniors Finn Hensley and Freya Carlsen led the way in the boys and girls 5,000-meter cross country races Saturday at Kamehameha Schools Maui. As a team, the Seabury girls finished first in the Maui Interscholastic League race, while the Spartans boys took second behind first-place Maui High.
