Learn safety and self-defense through Mind-Body Awareness at Maui Ki-Aikido in a special workshop on from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Shunshinkan Dojo, 194 South Market, in Wailuku. The Lahainaluna football team demonstrated a strong running game in a 48-21 win over King Kekaulike High School at Lahainaluna Stadium on Friday. Lunas’ Kyle Thomas ran for 227 yards and four touchdowns, and running back Ezekiel Opunui ran for 141 yards and two touchdowns in the Lahainaluna victory. Luna’s coach Dean Ricard said Thomas, who wants to play at the college level, has shown strength running through the defensive line, as well as stopping and shifting with sudden bursts of speed.
