Committee pulls Coco Palms petitionLIHUE - A committee supporting restoration of a Kauai resort made famous by Elvis Presley has pulled an online petition.The Garden Island reports the Save Coco Palms Committee removed the petition a few hours after it went up Wednesday.The shuttered resort was made famous by the 1961 Presley move "Blue Hawaii." Honolulu bus drivers sign 5-year contractHONOLULU - Bus drivers in Honolulu have agreed to a five-year labor contract with Oahu Transit Services Inc.The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports that drivers, clerical staff and maintenance workers in Teamsters Local 996 ratified the contract Tuesday with the company that operates TheBus.Union secretary-treasurer Millie Downey says the member vote was overwhelming in favor of the contract.The deal was reached June 30, the day the previous five-year deal expired.The contract calls for a 16-month wage freeze and then a 6.4 percent pay increase ...

Allegiant Air to offer flights between Honolulu-Los AngelesHONOLULU - Allegiant Air, which has cut back some of its Hawaii service, announced Tuesday it will be offering flights between Honolulu and Los Angeles starting in October.The flights will operate twice a week starting Oct. 30 between Honolulu International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport.The Las Vegas-based budget carrier began flying to Honolulu in 2012 with flights from Las Vegas and Fresno, Calif.
