The Jewish Congregation of Maui will host its annual Community Hanukkah Party at Beit Shalom Synagogue in Kihei from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The event will feature a candle-lighting ceremony, communal singing, games and prizes. Award-winning DJ Dam Weiseman will provide music and entertainment. For eight days and nights beginning Sunday, Jews worldwide will light their menorahs, eat traditional foods, sing songs, play games and give gifts. Thanksgiving event planned for homeless The Faith In Jesus Church in Waiehu invites the community to join in hosting a Thanksgiving celebration for the homeless people in the area. On Wednesday, the Samoan Methodist Church will serve a Samoan-style dinner in preparation for Thanksgiving.
