Buddhists plan joint service Members and friends of Kahului, Wailuku and Lahaina Jodo missions will gather at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Lahaina Jodo Mission, 12 Ala Moana St., for the annual Jodo Buddhist joint service and fellowship gathering. Jodo Buddhist practice Nenbutsu meditation, or reciting the mantra “Namu Amida Butsu,” expressing gratitude to the Buddha and to their ancestors.
