Laurie to speak at Kumulani Greg Laurie, senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, will be speaking at Harvest Kumulani Chapel on Sunday. The service will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. in Hale Hokulani (The Barn) on Office Road in Kapalua. Church celebrating 70 years of ministry Faith In Jesus Church, formerly the Wailuku Door of Faith, is celebrating its 70th year of serving the community of Maui this weekend with a series of services. The celebration begins with a luau at 5 p.m. today, prepared by the Joe Kuloloia ohana in memory of their wife and mother, Amy, who recently passed away. Tisha B’Av this weekend Tisha B’Av, the Ninth of Av. Sundown, will be observed Saturday and Sunday by the Jewish Congregation of Maui. On the ninth day of the Jewish month of Av in 586 B.C.E, the first great Holy Temple in Jerusalem was demolished by invading Babylonians. Seventy years later, the second Holy Temple was erected. Almost 600 years later, once again on the ninth day of the Jewish month of Av, in 70 C.E., the Romans sacked and destroyed the second Temple. This is a day of grief, mourning and fasting.
