2 stations blocked for DISH customers
Lilly Broadcasting has blocked DISH Network customers from accessing its television stations in Hawaii and elsewhere in the United States after the two companies were “unable to establish viable economic terms for a renewed retransmission agreement,” according to a news release from Colorado-based DISH.
The two affected stations in Hawaii are KITV-TV (ABC) and KITV2-TV (MeTV), both based in Honolulu. Other blacked-out stations are located in Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, New York and Pennsylvania.
According to the release from DISH, the dispute stems from Lilly’s request for rate increases.
