Ho’olaule’a at KSM is Saturday

Kamehameha Schools Maui will present its 14th annual Ho’olaule’a from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the school campus in Pukalani. Admission and parking are free.

There will be live entertainment, food booths, games, a silent and live auction, cultural displays, crafts and food trucks.

This KSM Parent, Teacher, Student, Ohana coordinated event will benefit student enrichment experiences not funded my KSM.

Cancer support group to meet

“You are your own best advocate” is be the theme of the next meeting of the Men’s Cancer Support, Advocacy and Educational group from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today in Room 7 of the J. Walter Cameron Center in Wailuku.

Sponsored by the Pacific Cancer Foundation and Answer Cancer Foundation, gatherings are held bimonthly on the first and third Wednesday evenings. Meetings are designed to empower men to deal with what can be a life-changing diagnosis.

Rummage, bake sale planned at St. John’s

St. John’s Episcopal Church will have its annual rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 8992 Kula Highway in Kula. The proceeds from this event will benefit the maintenance of the 118-year-old church building and its programs.

Boy Scouts cook up pancake breakfast

Troop 22 Boy Scouts will have an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Kamali’i Elementary School in Kihei.

The cost is $10 per person. The breakfast will also include eggs, breakfast meat, fruit, juice and coffee.

Spring plant sale planned at UH-MC

The University of Hawaii Maui College Agriculture and Natural Resources program will have a Spring Plant Sale and Open House from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the college greenhouse.

The Greenhouse Management class has grown an array of flowers such as dianthus, geraniums, gazania, gebera, vinca, petunia, vebena, canna lilly and many more. It will also have some native plants and asparagus starts for sale.

The Crop Production students will be selling fresh produce from the UH-MC fields, including tomatoes, eggplants, leafy greens, herbs and cut flowers. Honey from the Beekeeping Class will also be available.

To celebrate Earth Day, the program will include an open house during sale hours. There will be tours of GoFarmHawaii fields, planting activity, insect and bee seminar and displays, ethnobotany display and composting workshops.

The greenhouse can be accessed off of Wahinepio Street by the recycling center. Parking is in the new Science Building parking lot. For more information, call Ann Emmsley at 984-3243.

BiTT meeting planned in Kihei

A Kihei Business in the Think Tank meeting will take place from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the conference room of Monsanto, 2111 Piilani Highway in Kihei. BiTT gatherings are organized by Maui Business Brainstormers.

MBB members can RSVP at www.meetup.com/MauiBusinessBrainstormers. Membership is free for nonmembers who wish to attend. Attendance must be confirmed by 6 p.m. Monday prior to arriving at meeting. Meeting facilitators are David “Kahu” Kapaku and Nicole Fisher.
