Democrats create undue hardship by resisting wall
The front-page article of The Maui News on Dec. 22 titled “Federal shutdown begins; lawmakers fail to reach deal. Democrats fulfill their promise to deny funds for Trump’s border wall,” says a lot.
The Democrats are so obsessed with resisting President Donald Trump that they are willing to put undue hardships on a half-million federal workers. This partial shutdown affects not only the targeted workforce but also their families and thousands of others that rely on their incomes.
Five billion dollars for a border wall is pittance from a budget of trillions. Our Hawaii senators should overcome their bitterness for the good of America’s people.
