Johnny Galapon Ramoran, 86, of Kahului, passed away peacefully at home under the care of Islands Hospice, surrounded by his loving family, on May 27, 2026. He was born on June 22, 1939, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, and arrived on Maui on December 27, 1961. Johnny is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Felicidad Bumanglag Ramoran; his children, Edwin A. Ramoran, Leilani A. (Eugene) Quemado, Joy A. R. (John) Ornellas Jr., and Jeffrey A. Helen (Penny) Anthony James, 93, passed away on June 19, 2026. Penny was born in 1933 to Dorothy and DeForest Anthony in Fall River, Massachusetts, where she grew up before studying at Radcliffe College, graduating in 1955. Helen married Dr. William "Bill" James of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a 1954 graduate of Harvard University. They moved to Maui in 1970 and built their lives in Makawao.
