Edna L. Abe of Kahului, Maui passed away peacefully at home in the loving care of her family on Friday, January 27, 2023. Edna was born in Wailuku on July 14, 1959 to the parents of Mariano and Leonora Guerrero. In the last few years, Edna brought smiles to the children of Pomaikai Elementary School as a crossing guard and as a security guard at Kahului and Wailuku Public Library. Mary Bedoya Booker, of Honolulu, passed away on December 23, 2022. She was born on January 24, 1932 in Lahaina, Maui. Mary was a retired Telecommunications Operator. She is survived by her brother, Ben Bedoya; sister, Doreen Bedoya Watanabe; daughter, Sharon Miyashita; son, Jensley Lerback; and grandchildren, Ericka & Christopher Drayton and CJ & Sierra Lerback. Just shy of celebrating his 68th birthday, Larry Han Chin passed away on January 9th, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones at Maui Memorial Hospital. Our beloved father and papa was born on January 13th, 1955 in Seattle, Washington. Predeceased by his parents, Chong and Yee Ling Chin. Takeji Nihei was born to Seiji &Tori Nihei of “Old Kailua” on March 1, 1930 at Paia Hospital. He was the 5th of 7 children. On January 21, 2023 he peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones at Maui Memorial Medical Center. Grandpa worked hard and tirelessly at Maui Land & Pine Co. John Jay Wilson passed away peacefully at his home in Kula on January 27th, 2023. John was born in Englewood, New Jersey on November 23rd, 1937. Eventually moving west, he attended high school in Grants Pass, Oregon, graduated from Oregon State University in 1959, and received his MBA from Stanford University in 1963.
