Vehicles set on fire on Waiehu road

Three vehicles were damaged in fires that were intentionally set early Friday on Waiehu Beach Road, a fire official said. Three vehicles were damaged in fires that were intentionally set early Friday on Waiehu Beach Road, a fire official said.

The fires were reported at 4:05 a.m., with Wailuku firefighters arriving to find the three vehicles on fire about 10 feet from the building at 250 Waiehu Beach Road, said Fire Services Chief Rylan Yatsushiro.

He said firefighters were able to quickly control and extinguish the fires.

Police evacuated occupants of the building as a precaution.

Damage to the vehicles was estimated at $700.
