A Mokulele Airlines plane coming in from Honolulu skidded off the runway at the Kapalua Airport on Sunday morning, according to the airline.

The plane left Honolulu at 10:05 a.m. and landed at Kapalua just before 11 a.m., said Keith Sisson, spokesperson for Southern Airways, which purchased Mokulele in February. None of the nine passengers and two crew members aboard sustained injuries.

“All passengers at Kapalua who had ensuing Mokulele flights were reaccommodated within a couple of hours and by 4:00 p.m., all Mokulele flights were again operating on time,” Sisson said via email on Sunday afternoon.

Sisson said that there would be no disruption to today’s schedule as a result of the incident.

He added that the cause was under investigation.

Department of Transportation spokesperson Tim Sakahara said Sunday that “the airfield closed temporarily right after the incident,” but that “operations were able to resume soon after.”
