Paia resident Kathleen Mason walks along Baldwin Avenue on Friday afternoon with her newly purchased Nordic walking sticks. “It’s good, better than a cane,” Mason said. “I can go faster and it is better exercise.” She said she walks about a mile every day. “What I like even more is to swim, to go in the sea.” Mason said she hits Baby Beach in Spreckelsville every chance she gets.
