Kayla Tihada blows an ohe pu as she and Kawai Opunui cheer on Napili Canoe Club’s Boys 12 crew during Saturday’s Keiki O Maui Regatta at Hanakao’o Beach in Lahaina. The length of bamboo makes a sound similar to a pu, or conch shell. They said they were proud parents and retired paddlers.
