A fire caused more than $70,000 in damages to a structure in Pukalani early Saturday morning, according to the Maui Fire Department.

The fire was reported at around 4:35 a.m. Saturday on Liholani Street. Crews arrived on the scene and found a cottage fully involved with flames.

Engine 5 personnel had the fire under control in about 10 minutes and confirmed no occupants were inside the structure, which was being used for storage. Engine 13 also responded to the fire. 

The fire was declared fully extinguished at 6:45 a.m.

MFD estimated damages at about $60,000 for the structure and $12,000 for the contents.
