High surf advisory in effect until Saturday evening
A high surf advisory was issued Thursday, and it will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday.
The advisory comes as a moderate to large swell is expected to produce advisory-level surf along east-facing shores across Hawai’i. The surf is expected to peak early Friday and then slowly decline through the weekend.
According to the advisory, there could be large breaking waves of 7 to 10 feet increasing to 8 to 12 feet Friday on the east-facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai and Hawai’i Island.
