Walmart will host a free health and wellness event Jan. 24 at its Kahului store as part of a nationwide initiative aimed at expanding access to basic care.

The Wellness Event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with walk-ins welcome and no registration required.

According to Walmart, the event will offer free health screenings, including blood pressure and body mass index checks, along with complimentary vision screenings and guidance from pharmacists. It will also feature wellness sample boxes with nutritious snacks, vitamins, supplements and other items.

No-cost flu shots will also be available, along with other immunizations offered at affordable prices. Flu shots are covered by most major insurance plans, the company said.
