The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Hawaii from noon Saturday through 6 p.m. Monday.
The watch covers all of the Hawaiian islands. A high-surf advisory has also been issued for north-facing shores on Maui.
According to the NWS, an incoming storm front could produce heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and flash flooding, starting Saturday afternoon and potentially lasting into Monday.
The front is expected to move into Kauai late Friday before tracking over Oahu and reaching Maui County later Friday night.
The system is forecast to stall over Maui County over the weekend, allowing deep tropical moisture to build across the island chain.
Flood-prone roads and other low-lying areas may be affected by high runoff and overflowing streams. Urban areas could see significant flooding and property damage due to rapid runoff.
The greatest risk for flash flooding is expected in windward areas, according to the NWS.
