Daughters of the American Revolution’s Haleakala Chapter dedicates commemorative plaque

On Friday, the Haleakala Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution hosted a ceremony to dedicate a commemorative plaque honoring the men and women who fought in the American Revolution.
The tribute recognizes patriots who fought from 1775-1783, and the dedication is part of a yearlong nationwide celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The ceremony took place at the Maui County Veterans Cemetery Pavilion at 3361 Baldwin Ave. in Makawao.
The program included a blessing by Kahu Wayne Higa of Kaʻahumanu Church, and the plaque was dedicated by the honorary state regent, Julene Ignacio.
