SNAP hot foods waiver approved for Hawaii households impacted by kona low storms

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved a temporary waiver allowing SNAP participants in Hawaii to use their benefits to buy hot foods through May 17.

USDA said the waiver is important because many residents who have evacuated to shelters cannot store food and lack access to cooking facilities. Hot foods typically cannot be purchased with SNAP benefits. SNAP-authorized retailers have been notified of the approval.

Starting at $4.62/week.
