The Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce and Maui County will hold the annual Filipino American History Month Flag-Raising Ceremony from 10 to 11 a.m. Oct. 1 on the front lawn of the Kalana O Maui Building, 200 S. High St. This year’s ceremony marks the 120th anniversary of the arrival of the first 15 Sakadas, Filipino laborers who came to Hawaii in 1906.
