Carpenters union endorses Ashley Awakea Lindsey for Maui County Council

Ashley Awakea Lindsey, a candidate for the Maui County Council’s Wailuku-Waihee-Waikapu seat, has received the endorsement of the Hawaii Regional Council of Carpenters. Sam Kim of the council said Lindsey has “a clear understanding of the challenges facing working families across Maui” and is committed to policies that support family-sustaining jobs, workforce development, housing affordability and responsible economic growth. Maui Huliau Foundation is offering a series of free professional learning opportunities this summer for Maui educators focused on climate literacy, place-based teaching and community partnerships. Schatz introduces bill aimed at addressing surgeon shortage in remote communities

U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz, has introduced legislation aimed at improving access to general surgeons in Hawaii and other underserved areas across the country.
