Haiku to host speed bump update, candidate forum today

The Haiku Community Association will host a candidate forum and receive a county update on speed bumps during its regular monthly meeting Wednesday, July 29, at the Haiku Community Center. The meeting is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Association President Lucienne De Naie said the first half-hour will be set aside for the county and association to discuss concerns about the number of speed bumps being installed on rural roads.

Voter service centers open for Aug. 8 primary election

The Maui County Clerk's Office opened its first Voter Service Center on Monday ahead of the Aug. 8 primary election. Additional centers are scheduled to open across Maui County over the next week. Voters may cast ballots in person, register to vote or update their voter registration at the service centers.
