Two survive single-engine plane crash off Molokai

On Monday, two men survived a single-engine plane crash in water about two miles west of Kalaupapa Airport on Molokai. According to Maui Fire, the plane went down at about 11:43 a.m. The men were able to get out of the aircraft and get to the shore on their own. The pair then made their way to facilities at Kalaupapa National Park, where they were taken aboard a fire department helicopter and flown to the Kalaupapa lookout. Community meeting to offer updates on storm recovery efforts in South Maui

Maui County officials are planning a community meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Malcolm Center to discuss recovery work from the kona low storms.
